Like others have said, all the machines are male and it's really not necessary. There is a follow up book about "Kid McGear" who is a female machine. But I usually just switch the pronouns as I read it. And if you think it's too long,…

I had heard good things about this book. But the fact that all the machines are male made me so angry! I am so tired of books with more boys than girls. Particularly when they are machines, and the gender doesn't matter.

My two-and-a-half year-old loves this book and the illustrations are adorable (how can an excavator look so cute and cozy?!?) but I have to agree with the comment about all the vehicles being male. This is completely unnecessary and…

I really liked this book for my 2 year olds bed time story. It was a great length and by the end of it, my daughter was ready for her own good nigh good night!

So fun to read outloud. For any child who loves big trucks, construction sites and enjoys building things this book is a must read. Very charming and readable.

this book has a great rhythym to it, and the illustrations are great. My 18month old son loves it, and its one that as a parent is not too hard to 'read again'...

Both my 2 year old and 4 year old boys enjoyed this book. I liked that it named the types of construction equipment that I always point to when we pass in real life, but never knew the names of.

My daughter loves this story, and is very excited to identify cement mixers and excavators out in the real world. Charming story with sweet illustrations.

My son loved this book so much . He was sad when we had to return it to the library, so we ended up purchasing a copy for home. Fun, cute, and clever poetic read. My son (3 yrs old) has it mostly memorized, and "reads" along with me.

My son loves this, he loves the clever illustrations-the truck snuggled up with a teddy bear is his favorite. The rhymes are funny and clever, and the rhythm and repetition make this fun to read.

My son absolutely loved this delightful rhyming book. All the machinery in the construction site get put to bed with a rhyme, and then I put my son to bed. It is a great bed time story.
