Lost Cause Myths. Get some Shelby Foote and kick back with the KKK and the good slaves who obey their masters.
Watch for it’s continued impact on American culture. You know “good people on both sides” and traitor flags on 1/6.

THE FILM THAT perhaps defines Hollywood, Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh star in the 1939 MGM epic, which was produced by David O. Selznick and directed by Victor Fleming and George Cukor. It is Leigh’s vivid performance that pulls you…

a filmmaker can depict how it seemed to characters, without making an editorial comment that he/she/they believe that to be desirable, or wise. this is the concept of the 'flawed character'. point-of-view also speaks on this point. when…

A 1939 Hollywood romanticized version of the South during the CW. It depicts being a slave wasn't that bad. WRONG...but arguably the all-time best movie ever made.

Fabulous movie, love story, but the slave parts made me sad. So thankful humanity realized that people of a different color are all the same. No one race is above another. Five stars but for the slavery which is a sad part of our history.

Hands down the best movie ever made. I'm probably a little biased because I watched it all the time starting at about 5 years old. However, as I grow older and start understanding human nature and relationships between men and women, my…

I was fortunate to see this epic on the big screen a few years ago on the west side of Indianapolis. When possible, it's nice to appreciate certain films in a darkened theater in the way they were intended.
This is one for the ages and…

A sweeping drama set during the civil war with a spoiled heroine that I couldn't help warming up to eventually, even as I was continually frustrated by her selfish decisions and manipulation of other characters. I am so impressed by the…
