This was my first John Grisham novel, and I have to admit I was hooked within the first few pages. However, the ending was rather disappointing, not because of the result of the criminal trial, but rather due to the way Grisham chose to…

"Publishers Weekly" must have read a different edition of this book than what I did. Grisham, once again, has proved himself a brilliant author capable of consistently producing fully engaging plots with a humane twist. I look forward to…

Too long and nonessential details. It was as if he was just trying to fill pages. I had just read "The Client", and it was so fast moving and held your attention. This new book does not.

The novel is very well written; and encompasses matters in keeping with litigation, politics and adversities (poverty). Grisham has portrayed all his characters realistically. Jake Brigance is an astute attorney whose client-centered…

A worthy sequel to a Time To Kill

A big disappointment. So much repetition, feeling that he is giving courses in law. Finally, a poor closing from Grisham. Would not recommend it.

I have been reading John Grisham novels for over 30 years. I have seldom been as disappointed as I was with this book. Ironically my favorite of Grisham's books remains A Time to Kill - his first book which was rejected by publishers…

My favorite book was his first novel, "A Time to Kill", and this novel brings back some of the main characters in that book. I loved it, I neglected all my chores for two days to sit and read and enjoy this gripping story.

There was so much repetition and non-relevant fluff, I found myself skipping paragraphs just to get back to the story. Or non-story in my opinion. So much was given out at the beginning, I couldn't imagine how the story would twist and…

The story was relevant to the plight of the poor. I had a horrible time with all the mentions of abortion. This 14 yr old was raped. If ever abortion was helpful for the mental health of the victim, this was it Mississippi stupidity…

Very good read! Truly documented as the way life actually was in the south and the feelings of most, but not all, southerners. Storyline was factually told; made me almost wish I was could have been on the jury. Took me two days to…

I was almost persuaded not to read this based on a few of the reviews. I am happy I ignored their negative comments. If you like Grisham, this is an entertaining read. A page turner from start to finish!

Loved this book. Could not stop listening to it. I enjoy the narrator. His voice is very dynamic. His southern drawl… Loved watching the narrator in Houston Nights. I always picture Mathew McConaughey as Jake Brigance just like in the…

BOOOOOOOOORRRRRRING!!!! YAWN...... It was so slow moving that in the middle of the book, I just skipped ahead to the last 40 pages. I was also motivated by the due date and unable to renew. I owe too much $ in late fees already.

A TIME FOR MERCY is the third book in the series that began with John Grisham's wonderful A TIME TO KILL. I enjoyed this third series about lawyer Jake (played by Matjew McConoghey in the movie version of A TIME TO KILL, as he takes on a…

A story of how the tragic events of domestic violence, alcoholism, sexual abuse, and murder affects a family, a police force, and a town. Grisham did a good job of weaving all the story lines together but I agree with the criticism that…

I seemed to have enjoyed this story more than some other reviewers. I enjoy the background on characters and following the repeat characters that we know from previous books. Listened to this one on playaway and enjoyed the narrator's…
