A quite surprising mix of different styles, eras, arranged to give the listener an idea of the versatility of Yo Yo Ma's abilities. He harmoniously gathered such extremes as Brahms and Jacob do Bandolim, Vivaldi and Piazzola (who I had the privilege to watch play live in Brazil before he died). Very unusual mix.

Yo-Yo Ma is a total travesty. A consummate artist, master of technique and possessed of a soul, he has done NOTHING for classical music--the roots of his fame and wealth. I mean zilch, at least for a decade. Instead of being like Rostropovich--the previous Grand Cellist of our times--supporting composers with commissions and good recordings to attract new audiences to classical, all he's done is put out dreck like this, Obrigado, and Silk Road crapola and musical mediocrities for mass audiences. Is he not rich enough yet? A sheer waste of talent, and his massive fame. Someone should take him out behind the barn and spank him g*****m hard.
Good but not great, his Christmas album was much better.
