RIP Tomas Vincent Young
The American people have allowed fear to rule their emotions. We will make the same mistakes over and over in regards to bad foreign policy. Why has the Obama White House accepted "W"s legacy as their own. Spying on everyone, kill lists, and dropping bombs via drones is NOT keeping us safer. I encourage everybody to watch this film along with all the extras. And let's not allow the evil doers to re-write history. Blind Patriotism gets us ALL killed.

This is a 2007 documentary portraying Iraq War veteran Tomas Young.
Shocked by the September 11 attacks, Tomas Young wants to defend his country.
Subsequently he joins the United States Armed Forces.
As a soldier he is sent to Iraq.
Soon after his arrival, a marksman's bullet maims him.
Paralyzed from the chest down after serving in Iraq for just one week, 25-year-old Tomas Young is forced to deal with the realities of war each and every day.
For Tomas, learning to cope with his disability means finding his voice to speak out against the war in Iraq.
Intercut with his personal story is footage from Congressional proceedings in Washington, D.C. which led to the disputed war.
This antiwar documentary is telling you how hard the victim of the war has to cope with everyday life.
However, it doesn't tell exactly how Tomas Young converts himself from a pro-war soldier into an anti-war activist.
It would be much more enlightening and interesting if the director looked into this conversion.

Examines the legislative process that took one soldier in particular to Iraq, the soldiers who now speak out against the war, and briefly speaks to the system that might be failing our soldiers upon their return from war.

While Body of War looks at what happens before and after, try Swofford's Jarhead for a look a one Marine's experience during his time in the service.
