Vietnam veteran John Rambo has withdrawn into a simple and secluded existence in Thailand. Even though he is looking to avoid trouble, trouble finds him. A group of Christian missionaries approach Rambo with the desire to rent his boat to travel up the river to Burma, which is a war zone. The Karen people of the region have endured a brutal rule from the murderous Burmese military. Rambo accepts the offer and takes the missionaries up the river. When the missionaries finally arrive at the Karen village, they find themselves part of a raid led by the sadistic Major Pa Tee Tint and his command. Some of the villagers and missionaries are murdered. The rest are held as captives. Concerned by their disappearance, the minister in charge of the mission gathers a group of mercenaries. Rambo, who knows the exact dropoff, transport them with his boat. Rambo joins the team and helps liberate the survivors in what may be one of his deadliest missions ever.

Routine or not, I liked this one more than I expected I would. Rambo OBLITERATES and DEMOLISHES, as expected, and the ending was satisfying. A fitting finale (I should hope) to the franchise.

I'll say it again:Stallone can still do action movies. He can direct em and he can still act in em. Although Sly looked bizarre (whatever was wrong with his plastic surgery disaster face in this movie was fixed prior to the expendables, but boy he looks odd in this puppy) he did a great job as a bent but not broken John Rambo. Called back in to action by circumstance in another foreign land, he wreaks havoc (with a few supporting mercs this time) with graphic bloody violence. Again. A good action movie. The acting is good enough to get you through til the action starts.

What characterized Rambo of previous films was his ability to tough it out and in the end come out victorious. This version, however, resorts to the modern special effects that make scenes appear as if they came straight out of a video game. This use of new technologies undermines the essence of our hero and so, I was somewhat disappointed with what was supposed to be my guilty pleasure.

Yo,Adrian!! I have to make another Rambo movie. Better take out the HOMETHEATER!!! Of all the Rambo movies i have seen. Be it in the theaters or at home, this movie has the best audio of the bunch. Land mines, machine guns, and explosions are all "Sound Freak" approved. My friend jumped off the futon during one scene where these people had to walk across a river filled with landmines. BOOOM! I must admit, that at one point while watching this movie, i kind of looked at my door waiting for the Police or my neighbors to knock. There's plenty of blood and flesh being torn apart throughout this film. Especially one scene where Rambo is on the back of this vehicle that has a very large machine gun and he points directly at the soilders sitting in the front. My friend said "Holy S@#T!!!! as their flesh exploded from the bullets. Now my friend dosen't talk about audio that much, but she did like the sounds in this movie. I'm giving this Rambo 4 and a half stars. For excellent sound, excellent visual effects, very, very good action, and making my friend jump. Priceless!!!Chicken Parmesan hero. Get two apples, an orange, slices of pineapple and blend.

In this typical Rambo takes all movie, the weapons are more up to date and the graphic violence reflects it.

Since most of the Rambo movies take place in the jungle, this is the same, I often get tired of watching the rain take center stage.

But let's face it, this is Sylvester Stallone once again doing only what he can do best; play either Rambo or Rocky and really not much more.

(what has happened to his face?)

17+ due to graphic violence

Rambo is at it again.

Set in the Burmese jungle, brooding Rambo has not returned to his life in the USA, only to be asked to take some missionaries into Burma where the civil war (genoside) is in full swing.

Reluctantly Rambo agrees and once again becomes the hero of this typical rainy day, shoot 'em up, let's kill, kill, kill movie that Rambo has come to be.

Modern day weapons make this movie extremely violent & graphic and is not suitable for the younger set.

17+, extreme violence
