From Library Staff
It's time for little Chicken to go to bed, but not before Papa Chicken reads a good story. "You won't interrupt the story tonight, will you , little chicken?" asks Papa.
Papa tries to put Little Chicken to bed, but the classic fairy tales can't tell their stories because Chicken keeps getting in the way! This is another book that naturally works with character voices. It works well for storytimes about books, fathers, or bedtime.

This book is about a little chicken who wants her papa chicken to read her a book. Throughout each story the little chicken interrupts her papa chicken. He then comes up with a way to get her to stop interrupting him.
When Papa read Little Red Chicken some of her favourite stories at bedtime, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Chicken Little and Hansel and Gretal, Little Red Chicken kept interrupting with her own endings, until they ran out of stories. That’s when they decided that Little Red Chicken would tell Papa one of her very own stories!
