There was an aggressive, snarky, fat, psychopathic, burned out, smarmy, math teacher in St. Joseph in the early 80's whom I hated with a true passion. She would sarcastically and loudly screech, "I don't get it, I don't understand," if you happened not to phrase your question the "correct" way. Well this one's for you Mrs. Trump. (Thankfully I was able to block out her real name but Trump seems to fit her wretched personality.) I don't get Don DeLillo. I don't understand him whatsoever and cannot tell if he's above my reading level or more likely he's just contrived, self-indulgent and probably kin to my math teacher.

What a boring book. Only made it through one story.

Not all of the stories succeed, but DeLillo knows how to slay us with the incredibly beautiful use of the English language,
