I absolutely love this book. I use it in my 3-4year old preschool class. Yes, this book is probably intended for a bit of an older audience. However, I love to see the little faces enjoying the illustrations, and trying to understand the journey Pezzettino goes on. Who doesn't love a happy ending? This book lends itself to wonderful mosaic art centers.

I love Pezzettino and Leo Lionni! It's about a little piece who discovers that it is okay to be himself and not part of something bigger. He's perfectly wonderful just the way he is.

Pezzettino assumes that because he is small he is not whole. He goes on a journey to discover that he indeed is a whole being.
