A book worth reading over and over again. The characters and the world Brandon Mull created felt like a possiblilty. Great read and I recommend it to other fans of Brandon Mull. You will not be disappointed with this book.

This book is suspenseful, creative, and original. I finished it in two days! I started book two, but it is not as good in my opinion.

I thought it was going to be lame . . . but it turned out to be one of the best books that I have ever read. My friend recommended it to me, then I tried it once before, but I gave up. But now that I'm reading it over, again, I see that it really is a good book with lots of humor and different elements making it really seem like another world is out there.

A friend recommended Beyonders to me recently. After my initial skepticism, I was sucked into the story immediately. Jason is such a reluctant hero; he's human and completely believable. I noticed a stark contrast between Beyonders and Fablehaven, as soon as I started reading the prologue. Beyonders is much darker and much more violent. I was a little startled, as I had been expecting to read something a little bit like Fablehaven. But, aside from that, this was a wonderful book with a great plot and a surprising ending. Can't wait to get started on Seeds of Rebellion!

Jasher grinned. "Trust me. To venture into the swamp without means of repelling the insects is not merely inconvenient. It borders on suicide. Some of the pests are poisonus; some carry diseases. The stink should suffice to keep the insects away."
"And the bears," Jason said. "And the skunks. And the girls."

Jason Walker has often wished his life could be a bit less predictable--until a routine day at the zoo ends with Jason suddenly transporting from the hippo tank to a place unlike anything he's ever seen. In the past, the people of Lyrian welcmoed visitors from the Beyond, but attitudes have changed since the wizard emperor Maldor rose to power. The brave resistors who opposed the emperor have been bought off or broken, leaving a realm where fear and suspicion prevail. In his search for a way home, Jason meets Rachel, who was also mysteriously drawn to Lyrian from our world. With the help of a few scattered rebels, Jason and Rachel become entangled in a quest to piece together the word of power that can destroy the emperor, and learn that their best hope to find a way home will be to save this world without heroes.

Violence: There's some pretty gory violence in certain places. Might not be too great a read for those of you who are squeamish in any way.
