This beautiful story about a boy that has deal with not only high school life and girls, but also being horribly scarred after being struck by lightning, gives hope to readers that life can be normal. Caught in a love triangle and a member of a Rock'n'roll band, Harry fights to keep his life together, and every reader will be rooting him on from start to finish!

I enjoyed the adventure in this book. It's fun to dream about running away and starting a rock band. Also, I really like the structure of this book, how the main character is looking back on the story. This provides him the opportunity to say what he wish he would have done vs what he actually did. It's an interesting perspective. And any 80s era fans will love all the references.

I love how they tell us immediately what the book is called Scar Boys.

This book is one of those books about this messed-up american boy going through life. Though I've read enough these types of books about either boy or girl going through trauma, it never escapes the fact your going through the same thing.
