A little dated -done right after Pope Benedict was elected-but pretty good. Gives viewers good historical information and has footage of areas of the vatican not usually seen by visitors-the archives, the crypts, the Papal residence, etc.

I go to a support group wherein one of the requests, or 'traditions', is to not talk about your religious affiliation. Over and over again, the Catholic members ignore this. It's like they're proud of their history. Sorry, just cos' you were/are the majority, it doesn't mean that's a good thing, kiddo. What is it about a religion, that, in the midst of tremendous scandal, our 2-day work week Congress drops everything to bow down to a leader who is every bit a part of the problem? I will never, ever understand this world or most humans who are prone to ignoring hypocrisy, corruption, and every single thing Jesus's a lesson for the ages. Understanding this phenomenon is even more important than understanding why the Nazis thrived...because, this church is every bit as evil as the Nazis. It's evil as hell. You won't believe some of the stuff shared in this video. But don't forget the indulgences, the Inquisition, the assisting of the Nazis post-WWII, the anti-semitism. The list is so long...and yet, this year...millions cheered when the next puppet, I mean pope, met his 'flock'. His followers. His mindless followers.

An informative documentary exploring the shift from the papacy of Benedict to Francis. This examines the scandals, both financial and sex abuse related, that built controversy on Benedict's tenure and led to his resignation, with the personal testimony of those violated being particularly powerful. Francis' different approach to things is examined, as is the challenge faced in confronting the bureaucracy in the Vatican. For an outsider, it's an interesting documentary. If you're Catholic, it might depend on where your perspective lies, however.
