If you can handle a good measure of nail biting suspense, then this series is for you. So far, there are four books each set in the ancient world. The historical detail is fascinating, yet this volume and every one that follows will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Interest level: ages 10-12. Kids looking for more books set in Ancient Greece will love this new series filled with danger and adventure. Young Hylas has always been an Outsider, but when a clan of fierce warriors called the Crows start to hunt him he escapes into the sea where a dolphin leads him to the daughter of the High Priestess.

Fairly well written, but I wouldn't allow my children to read it. There are very graphic descriptions of death and corpses, so I would recommend for tweens/ teens but not children.
