The line between commune and cult can be a thin one, depending on your own experience. This is such an example - such a life can be either enriching or detrimental, but certainly life- and (probably) mood-altering. The majority of the testimonies given here mention that they were grateful for their experience but they wouldn't choose it if given a second chance - no surprise there. For a leader of such a group, power, religion, sex and wealth are a heady mixture best taken in moderation. Too much of a good thing can leave you without a future, as was the case with the leader of this family. Life did continue for the followers and it's interesting to see how these family members carved out their own paths, with a little bit (or a lot) of that lifestyle as a foundation.
