After the presidents' helicopter, Marine One, goes down in a brutal thunderstorm, the government blames the European manufacturer of the helicopter, accusing them of killing the president. Senate investigations and Justice Department accusations multiply as Mike Nolan, a Marine Corps reserve helicopter pilot and trial attorney in civilian life, is hired to defend the company from the criminal investigations and wrongful-death lawsuit brought by the most notorious lawyer in America on behalf of the First Lady. Nolan knows that to win his case, he has to find out what really caused Marine One to crash and why the president threw caution aside to go to a meeting no one seems to know about.

I know we live in the times of hellish privatization and American plutocracy and American oligarchs and American hegemony, but this is the most stupid premise for a fictional thriller imaginable.

I really liked this audiobook. It kept me listening when I really should have been doing other things. Loved the gravely voice of the reader.

"On its way to a top-secret meeting at Camp David, the helicopter carrying the president crashes, killing everyone on board. Annapolis attorney Mike Nolan is hired by the helicopter's manufacturer to defend it against lawsuits, but the more that Mike learns, the more questions he has. First of all, was there a mechanical defect, or was the helicopter sabotaged? And why was the president headed to Camp David - in a terrible storm - for a meeting that only three people knew about? Fans of techno-thrillers, legal thrillers, and political thrillers should find this a compelling read." Thrillers and Suspense Newsletter November 2012

A court room, military, political and corporate thriller. Highly recommend, 8 of 10 for me.

This political thriller really turns up after a slow and somewhat tedious start. You won't want to stop once you get to the second half. 8 of 10 stars
