By luck I watched Season 6 before this and I am shocked out how much better Season 6 is compared to this one (usually series get worse as they go along). This one took about 5 episodes to really find its voice. Weirdly enough it is the episodes with Troy that suffered the most. You would think with this main character leaving he would have been in the spotlight but that wasn't the case. Maybe it was the fact Dan Harmon the creator had been fired for a year and was now back that the show lost its steam. Overall still one of my fav series (it is VERY absurd humour and not for everyone) but this is one of the weakest Dan Harmon seasons. Season 6 far outshines it in terms of humour and stories.

There back! With the return of Dan Harmon, Community continues on to return to its original core. The departure of Donald Glover (within 5 episode) and Chevy Chase, gives a new dynamic to the group. While bittersweet, the show still manages to make each situation absurd, funny and interesting!

Season 5 lifts Community back up to standard from its fall in season 4. (the gas leak)

Not their best season but Community quality nonetheless.

"Community" creator Dan Harmon famously exited his own show for season four, but returns for the shorter (13 episodes) fifth season, which finds the cult show in transition. Chevy Chase is gone (he's not missed) and Donald Glover leaves a few episodes in (he is missed). "Community" is a show I've always liked because of its cast, but have also found more amusing than outright funny. It continues to embrace a certain meta-level and pop culture (one episode is an animated "G.I. Joe" homage), which is usually clever, but sometimes a little too much. Jonathan Banks of "Breaking Bad" joins the cast as a professor, John Oliver returns for a few episodes, and guest stars include Tim & Eric, Brie Larson, Kevin Corrigan, David Cross, Chris Elliott, Walton Goggins, and "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan.
