Our narrator sure is a really great farm dog – er, well, really great at getting treats, anyway. A farm dog has a job, but the jobs do not include waking the farmer (rooster handles that) or eating grass (cows, of course). But here’s the secret: if you do wake up farmer, you might find that he’ll give you a biscuit just to leave him alone! If you eat grass like the cows, you will throw up. And as for that biscuit… we bet you can guess. This set up for each jokes is repeated, making it easy for young listeners to flex their narrative skills in guessing what will happen next. Despite this repetition, the punchlines all feel fresh and surprising, so get ready for lots of giggles! Pair with The Bear Ate Your Sandwich for another mischievous canine narrator.

Hysterical!

Ragweed is an excellent farm dog. This is his story, with advice for how you, too, can become an excellent farm dog. This book helps kids to consider different perspectives. One dog's regurgitated biscuit is the same dog's treat do-over, and while that's a (hilariously) disgusting thought to a human, it's a treat to an excellent farm dog such as Ragweed.
