Love the Coopers is probably worth seeing once, if you like Christmas movies and are looking for one you might have missed. Keep your expectations low. The cast is excellent; the script could have been better. I think they were trying to create another The Family Stone, which isn't a great movie either. Diane Keaton plays the mother role in both films. Love the Coopers is rated PG-13 for thematic elements, language and some sexuality.

This movie was a bit ho-hum.

Feel good story, not unique, but well executed with a sterling cast led by Diane Keaton and John Goodman. Alan Arkin, Amanda Seyfried, Ed Helms, Olivia Wilde and the incomparable Marisa Tomei are along for the ride during a holiday family get-together with everyone trying to put past indiscretions behind them. Mashed potatoes are flung, hospital visits occur, and dancing ensues!

The stories of love include long married love, first love, love at first sight, family love, non-sexual love, sisterly love, lost love, and adultery that passes itself off as love. That is a lot of love stories for one movie. The movie is more bittersweet than funny; nevertheless, the end is touching. Probably a movie for people who have been married a long time.

This was ok. The family just wasn't that likable.
