“Nine Perfect Strangers” by Liane Moriarty is about 9 people who attend a health resort called Tranquilium House, all hoping to achieve different goals at the end of the 10 days. Over the course of the book, it gives details of the ten day stay through the perspective of all the characters. I really like this book because it thoroughly explains how the characters feel through their own perspectives over the stay. It has plot twists that would have not even crossed my mind. I also enjoyed the ending although I hoped for another alternative. Overall, I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it!

Least favorite of all her books. I suggest leaving it for last. Her storytelling skills weren't on fire on this one. Otherwise, I give all her other books 5 stars. Love this author.

I wish I could give negative stars. Rich, bored, self-obsessed whiners go to a more than full service spa for 10 days of unlimited messages, individual workout training, unlimited counseling sessions--and the first night the dinner consists of 12 entirely different, individualized meals. Then they do nothing but whine and mope and feel even sorrier for themselves until they learn they are being drugged. More feeling sorry for themselves ensues.
I can see that Moriarty was trying to write a Maeve Binchy style--story of weaving together threads of stories to make a novel. What she did for me, was offer 12 horrid people who I had hoped would all die in the end. I usually give authors a second or even third chance, but I am DONE with Moriarty.

I listened to this in the car. It was engaging and thought provoking. Well done.

A little slow throughout and then the ending hits HARD but still really cool story and was able to capture the perspectives of each character nicely.

This was just okay. I’ve read a few other books by her and this one didn’t interest me as much as the others. It was a good story but then it went a little overboard. She does a good job creating characters that you care about. You want to keep reading to find out what happens to them, but not one of her best works.

Not a great one. I kept reading thinking it would get better but it kinda just gets weirder, disappointing and confusing. I did enjoy the characters and found most to be humorous. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you really have nothing else better to read....

Very funny, with enough intrigue to keep you interested.
