This was so cute it actually, physically hurt me.

When Charlie meets Nick, he never expects anything to happen between them. Nick is a rugby bro, sweet but straight - or so Charlie thinks. Their friendship grows, and grows, and grows, but there might be something more there, too.

I read an ebook version of this graphic novel because the waiting list for the physical copy at the library is just so darn long, and I didn't think the format detracted from my reading experience at all. I worried because it's a graphic novel that I might lose some of the *feeling* of the thing, but didn't find that to be the case.

The story here is so simple, with the boys meeting, their relationship developing, but it feels so authentic. Alice Oseman is a queen of the relatable, and I love the dialogue and the way she used smiley faces and little teeny character faces to show emotions/who was speaking/etc. It made it all even more adorable.

And as always, the rep here is so great. The blossoming of these boys' friendship and more is just so lovely and heartwarming to experience alongside them.

I really enjoyed this. I hold off from 5 stars because I have read other graphic novels that have felt more like me, if that makes sense, but this is one that I could absolutely see being so treasured by so many. I'll definitely be back for the next volumes when my library gets them in.

This is a really cute boy-meets-boy graphic novel. It's very sweet and is easy on the drama, making it a pretty good read for those who like lighter romance stories. It's also a great addition to any LGBTQ+ library display. This is only volume one in a longer series, but I'm sure it'll leave you wanting to read more.

This series is so beautiful. Nick and Charlie are my favorite people ever. High key, I read this series 2 times already this year. The artwork is gorgeous. The relationship is so cute. The characters are realistic and lovable. This series is just a masterpiece.

Heartstopper has the cutest colour scheme, a fantastic storyline and great illustration. It was insta-love for me from the cover and it continued all throughout this adorable read about two teenage boys developing a friendship and something more as sparks fly. I love the light pastel colours and the gentle drawings of the main characters with the whimsical background.
