There is no help for the reader who is trying to get through this book. I was 1/3 of the way through the book before realizing these weren't only flashbacks. Extremely confusing to just keep going back in time.
The book could have been so much better if there had been some way for the reader to determine where they were in time - is that person dead or not?? Very poor writing style.

Sparkling prose, enduring characters, a unique narrative approach, and a vital perspective on the American invasion of Iraq.

This book is thought-provoking like the author's first 2 books. However, I will not likely read anymore books he writes. If you can get past the excessive descriptions of trivial details, the characters and story are interesting. He also jumps back and forth in time too much for my taste.
