This World War I story, set mostly in Paris and New Orleans, has absolutely nothing to do with The Great Gatsby. I read the entire novel and I don't see the connection. The publishers have be promoting this novel as a prequel to the great American novel. Nonsense. Nick is a rambling novel about love and war and should not be mentioned in the same sentence with The Great Gatsby. A real disappointment.
