The Windy City isn't quite ready for Phoebe Somerville--the outrageous, curvaceous New York knockout who has just inherited the Chicago Stars football team. And Phoebe is definitely not ready for the Stars' head coach, former gridiron legend Dan Calebow, a sexist jock taskmaster with a one-track mind. Calebow is everything Phoebe abhors. And the sexy new boss is everything Dan despises--a meddling bimbo who doesn't know a pigskin from a pitcher's mound. So why is Dan drawn to the shameless sexpot like a heat-seeking missile? And why does the coach's good ol' boy charm leave cosmopolitan Phoebe feeling awkward, tongue-tied...and ready to fight? The sexy, heartwarming, and hilarious "prequel" to This Heart of Mine--Susan Elizabeth Phillips's New York Times bestselling blockbuster--It Had To Be You is an enchanting story of two stubborn people who believe in playing for keeps.

You'll find yourself laughing and routing for team in this series! Each book is a lighthearted and charming romance telling the love stories of characters associated with the fictional NFL team The Chicago Stars. Although the main characters change with each book you'll see some of your favorite characters along the way. Read this series in or out of order!

Funny story especially on hubris stadium owner expecting to charge "dumb blonde" football owner higher rent get table turned by her threatening to go to Baltimore, Orlando or New York City with help of Donald Trump in front of straight faced coach.
Can't unsee mental image of her telling her team to think of the opposition team naked in pep talk.

The first Susan Elizabeth Phillips romance featuring the Dallas Stars football team. Phoebe Somerville is one of my all-time-favorite heroines. Seemingly a flashy, ultra-sexy blonde who inherits the team, she has surprising depth of character. The scenes with her and Dan Calebow, the sexist head coach, are outstanding. Don't miss this romance!

What if a woman who knows nothing about sports inherits a professional football team? The Windy City definitely isn't ready for Phoebe Somerville, the outrageous York knockout who’s taking over their home town team. And Phoebe is definitely not prepared for the Stars' head coach Dan Calebow, a sexist jock taskmaster with a one-track mind. This is the book that began it all. The Chicago Stars are about to take the field... and they’re not the only ones playing for keeps
