Oscar Wilde wrote the story in 1895 but this film is from 1952. Nonetheless I enjoyed the film very much. All the characterizations are wonderful. Of course, I can't possibly relate to any of them in my own life unless remembering some old biddy who thinks she has the power of God over people. Never be the poorest person in the room if you can help it. Wonderful color print. Excellent dialog coach. Oscar Wilde himself was perhaps even more of a character than those he penned on the page. His "Picture of Dorian Grey" starring George Sanders and Hurd Hatfield is mesmerizing even though it is from 1945.
