I have recently been getting into more fantasy types of books and I decided to give J. K. Rowling a shot. I do not regret reading this book at all. The way it is written is unbelievable. I have read tons of books over the course of 2020-2021 and this must be one of my top favorite reads. I liked how it felt like I was in it and I could visualize what was going on. This book was just the beginning of my reads by J. K. Rowling. I am sure to read more of these books. I highly recommend this book and author. I give this 4.5/5 stars because the beginning was not what I was wanting it to be like.

I started reading this book after I had finished all of the movies, and that was the right decision. After I read the book, I was quite impressed with the near-perfect film adaptation of the novel. There were some minor changes that were inconsistent between the two, for example, Harry’s eye colour and the scene in which he meets Draco for the first time, but that hardly affected my enjoyment. The book, however, was still better than the movie, as with most film adaptations of books. There’s more room for personal creativity and imagery, which allows for a more open-ended reading from a visual perspective. The storytelling is fantastic and J.K. Rowling does an excellent job of immersing the reader into a world of fantasy. 5/5
