This is a good book about working hard at something you love and not being afraid to make mistakes. It is not really about the Christmas story. I did have to explain at the beginning why the father would send the boy to the monastery ( and what a monastery was). But the kids really liked it and I thought the messages were really good., particularly since both my kids had trouble with their printing. The best sentence is "always try to make an opportunity of your mistake and not a regret." I read it to a 7 year old and an 11 year old (yes, the 11yr old listened too, but I would not have picked it up just for her).
