If you have visited Washington D.C., you may have noticed the beautifully designed Folger Shakespeare Library near the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress. Mays tells the story of Henry Clay Folger and that of Shakespeare's First Folio. Folger and his wife spent their lives and fortune building this collection - and then insured it would have a worthy home where scholars from around the world could study the Bard's work. Maybe it helps to be a bibliomaniac, but I really enjoyed reading this book.
