Ruby needs to pull it together. She can't lose anyone else. She won't let allow herself to fail the ones she loves again. The remains of the Children's League is trying to get by, hiding from the military in the sectioned-off ruins that once was the city of Los Angeles. It's hard to find enough food, let alone keep Clancy subdued and deal with the Jude-shaped hole in her heart. When she finds out that the people who are supposed to be protecting them may be planning a betrayal, she tells Cole and begins down a path of hard decisions as she generally takes his side in most, if not all, strategy and op plans. As she begins to build a bond with Cole, both knowing how difficult it is to try and contain the monsters inside them, she can feel her relationship with Liam fraying. She's kept him at arms distance and starts looking down on his impulsive decision, making the bit of tension between them worse. In the search for the cure and how it can work, Ruby tries to juggle the search for Lillian Gray (Clancy's mom), the need to liberate Thurmond, and the overall exhaustion that continues to plague her. Will she break under the pressure, or will she surprise us all?
