I feel like this is another book that I let wash my concentration away. My friend absolutely loved the book, which I am now starting to wonder what I missed. To me, this book was good but not entirely worthy of devotion. I enjoyed reading it, but it wasn't really THAT exciting, although some parts had me pausing. The female protagonist has a special ability and a dysfunctional family structure. She must choose between following her heart, or following her head, to ensure the safety of everyone she loves. The cliffhanger in this book though was really intense. I should probably go put a hold on Wayfarer now. 4/5 stars - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library 'Passenger' by Alexandra Bracken is like no other book. I would deny the fact that I sadly took the book for granted and was a bit sceptical about its summary, thinking it would be some weird modern-day take on Titanic or something similar to 'If I Stay' since the protagonist is also a musician that is linked romantically to a male character. People say that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but its undeniable beauty is what made me intrigued and read it anyways. The book came with the full package in regards to looks and storyline. The book is, in fact, not a modern-day Titanic but an incredibly intriguing story involving historical events, human civilization, magic, time-travelling, emotions, and representation. The writing is descriptive yet straightforward and could work amazingly for a table read or script for a show or movie. Because of this, it makes the reader want to learn more of it and luckily enough, there are over 500 pages to keep the reader filled and on their toes. I look forward to reading the second one, and I hope it excels this book. This book needs more attention and possible development in the film industry. 4.7/5. @moonlightbae of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
