I usually find it hard to not find one redeeming quality about a book, but this book has none. Let's tackle the two main issues. 1. The white man who takes off his pants in front of a Black woman. She protests, he still takes them off, and THEY GET MARRIED. Nononononono. Handler (Snicket) has been in trouble for saying racist things before. You would think he'd learn from past experiences. 2. Hurting or laughing at someone to erase your bad mood. That's exactly (not) what we want to teach children. So much for being kind. Stay far away from this one, unless you'd really like an example of what not to do when writing children's picture books.
