The lens of years and experiences doesn’t diminish the inspiration I found in this book, but this book resonates in different ways for me now. Show less

Charming, heartfelt, and revealing. Dat is not only the new kid in school, he’s a new kid in a new country and he doesn’t understand the cloud of words and sounds swirling around him. It’s all gibberish. Just when Dat believes he will never fit in, he meets a girl in his class who is determine to communicate with him in innovative ways.
