Go Team Venture!: References and Shout-outs

First airing in 2004 on [Adult Swim] through 2023 when it was abruptly canceled in the middle of the 8th season's development, The Venture Brothers was and is a landmark media property that re-defined what adult animated cartoons could be. Written entirely* by a team of two, creators Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick, the show was originally conceived as a Johnny Quest parody which expanded well beyond the boundaries of the media it lampooned with genuine character development, an ever-changing status quo, and a sprawling cast of hundreds of unique and memorable characters. I've been a fan of the show since around 2009, and in honor of the library acquiring "Go Team Venture!: The Art And Making Of The Venture Bros" I've compiled a (very truncated) list of some of the occasionally esoteric movie and TV references that the show is much beloved for. *Okay, so The Tick creator Ben Edlund co-wrote two episodes (S2 E2 "Careers in Science" and S2 E9 "Guess Who's Coming to State Dinner?") but besides that it's a Doc and Jackson joint all the way.
